Effective date: August 19, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information Moroccan Rituals (https://moroccanrituals.co/) collects when you visit the site, why we collect it, how we use it, who we share it with, and the rights you have over your personal data. It is written to be understood, not to be evaded.
The data controller is Moroccan Rituals, contactable at contact@moroccanrituals.co.
1. What we collect
Information you give us. When you subscribe to our newsletter, submit a comment, contact us by email, or fill in a form on the site, we collect the details you provide — typically your name and email address, and whatever else you choose to include.
Information collected automatically. Like almost every website, we automatically receive standard log data when your browser connects to ours: IP address, browser type and version, operating system, referring page, pages visited on the site, and timestamps. We use cookies and similar technologies to remember preferences and to understand how the site is used at an aggregate level.
2. Why we collect it (legal bases under the GDPR)
- To operate and maintain the site — legitimate interest.
- To deliver newsletters and content you’ve explicitly asked for — consent.
- To measure aggregate traffic and improve editorial work — legitimate interest, with configurable analytics.
- To respond to your enquiries — legitimate interest, or performance of a request you have initiated.
- To prevent fraud and enforce our Terms — legitimate interest.
- To comply with legal obligations — legal obligation.
3. Cookies and analytics
We use a small number of cookies to enable core site functionality and to measure aggregate performance. Details, retention periods, and how to disable them are in our Cookie Policy.
4. Third parties we share data with
We do not sell personal data. We share it only with service providers who help us run the site, and only to the extent necessary. Typical categories include:
- Hosting and CDN providers
- Analytics providers (traffic measurement)
- Email delivery providers (newsletter and transactional email)
- Security and anti-abuse providers
- Legal, accounting, and professional advisors, when required
Each provider processes data under a data-processing agreement and only for the purposes we have contracted them for. We may also disclose data when compelled to do so by applicable law or a valid legal request.
5. International data transfers
Some of our providers are based outside your country of residence. Where required, we rely on adequacy decisions, Standard Contractual Clauses, or equivalent legal mechanisms to protect your data during international transfer.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live (in particular under the EU/UK GDPR, and the CCPA in California), you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Have inaccurate data corrected
- Have your data deleted, subject to legal retention obligations
- Restrict or object to the processing of your data
- Withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent
- Receive your data in a portable format
- Lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority
To exercise any of these rights, email contact@moroccanrituals.co. We aim to respond within one calendar month.
7. Retention
We keep personal data only as long as it is needed for the purpose it was collected, or as required by law. Newsletter records are kept until you unsubscribe; enquiry emails typically for two years; log data for shorter windows, defined by our security and analytics providers.
8. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the data we hold — TLS in transit, hardened server configuration, access controls, and provider-side encryption where offered. No system is perfectly secure; if we become aware of a breach affecting your data, we will act promptly in line with applicable law.
9. Children
This site is intended for a general adult audience. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time — for example, when we change providers or when the law changes. The “Effective date” at the top shows when it was last revised. Material changes will be flagged on the site.
11. Contact
Questions about this policy, or about the data we hold, go to contact@moroccanrituals.co.
